Woburn Art Gallery

am a mixed media collage artist and ceramicist. My inspiration comes from the built environment, from places I have visited both at home and abroad. I then create paintings and ceramics which capture a sense of place, the colour, texture, atmosphere and light. The layering process has always been important in my paintings and also follows through into my ceramics. My current buildings vessels are handbuilt utilising slabs, pinch pots and flattened coils in stoneware clays. I use various techniques including sgraffito, inlay and printing to apply slips and underglazes to create depth and texture.

Originally from Scotland, I studied Textile Design at The Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels before following a career in Printed Textile Design. I am a member of the Buckinghamshire Craft Guild.
