The title 'Samara' derives from the name of the Sycamore seeds that twirl as they float down from the tree. Particularly poignant as it also reflects the tragedy of the loss of the famous 'Sycamore Gap' tree a few months ago.
This tree stump is over 3 million years old, the tree itself was encased in lava all that time and has petrified, hence its amazing structure and texture.
